Netflix has a live-action remake of the series on its way, and on Saturday the streaming giant dropped something even cooler than a trailer: An early look at the show’s opening credits. And wouldn’t you know it, the live-action sequence is a stylized carbon-copy of the anime’s original opening. If you’re looking for a Netflix that expands on the anime and takes it in new or different directions, this may not be what you were hoping to see. But it’s a slick first look that offers people who don’t know the original — which I’d wager accounts for a big chunk of the Netflix audience — a sense of the tone and style of this bonkers series. You won’t have to wait much longer to see it. Cowboy Bebop comes to Netflix on Nov. 19.
