(SPOT.ph) We’ve waxed poetic about Hainanese chicken rice. After all, the dish boasts full-on chicken flavor and delivers an extra flavor punch with its accompanying sauces: A sweet dark soy sauce for sweetness and umami, chili sauce for heat, and ginger sauce for zestiness. It’s so well-loved in its home country of Singapore that it’s hailed as their unofficial national dish! Taking after this—and in light of Singapore’s National Day on August 9—McDonald’s in Singapore ingeniously decided to launch a new limited-edition menu item that will get any Asian food fan drooling. Check out the Crispy Hainanese Chicken Burger, which is is available at the fast-food chain’s Singapore branches starting today, August 5.

Here’s the deal on the new Hainanese-chicken inspired sandwich available at McDonald’s Singapore:

For the Crispy Hainanese Chicken Burger, McDonald’s partnered with Singaporean actor Ben Yeo. Each burger’s got a breaded chicken patty that’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and a trio of sauces similar to the original: a dark sweet sauce, garlic-chili sauce, and ginger sauce!

For the full Singaporean experience, you’ll want to try it with these two other items McDonald’s is selling for the occasion: The Kopi Frappé, their take on the Singaporean coffee-milk drink of the same name; and the tropical-tasting Banana Pie. Yup, definitely adding all these to our list of McDonald’s items that we wish were available locally.
