After calling Bongbong Marcos ‘Mr. President’, Willie Revillame clarifies no commitment yet to the presidential candidate
Via the Wowowin livestream on April 26, TV show host Willie Revillame talked about his video call with presidential aspirant Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr.
He detailed his conversation with the presidential aspirant when he called BBM’s running mate, Sara Duterte-Carpio, wherein they talked about doing a campaign song for the UniTeam camp.
“Mr. President, mahal na pangulo, nagkita po kami ni Manong Chavit [Singson], e, mag-uusap daw tayo.
“Meron kaming ginawa ni Vehnee Saturno na kanta para sa ‘yo. Ang kulang ninyo sa kampanya, puso. Ang title nun, Puso Para sa Bayan. Kay Ma’am Sara, Sara Ikaw Na Nga yung kanta ko.”
He then called BBM ‘Mr. President’ and Sara ‘Vice President’ right before ending the video call.
“Now, I have a song, ang title po ‘Puso Para sa Bayan,’ mahal na pangulo. Ingat po kayo Sir, Mr. President, Vice President.”
He admitted that he felt shocked that Sara called him up suddenly.
“‘Yan naman ho ay tinawagan lang ako. Nagulat ho ako dahil ho biglang tumawag si Ma’am Sara.
“Nag-text ako sa kanya, sabi ko tinawagan ako ni Manong Chavit kahapon ho ng umaga, nagbe-breakfast ako. Sabi niya, ‘Nasaan ka? Mag-usap tayo. Gusto kitang makausap.’”
Willie clarified that he hasn’t made any commitment to the UniTeam camp.
“Wala naman pong commitment ‘yan. Gusto lang daw nila akong makausap at, yun nga, sabi ko, ‘Sige ho. Mag-uusap ho kami. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang pag-uusapan namin.”
He also explained that he often calls BBM and Sara Mr. President and Vice President.
“But anyway, ilang tulog na lang ho ito, eleksyon na. Natawag ko silang Mr. President at Vice President kasi yun naman ang tinatawag sa kanila.”
He then reminded the public to exercise their right to vote on May 9.
“Pero malalaman pa naman ho natin ‘yan mismo sa May 9 kung sino talaga ang magiging presidente. Wala pa naman desisyon ang sambayanan.
“Sa lahat ng mga botante, sa lahat ng mga boboto, may karapatan ho tayong lahat at bawat Pilipino.
“So, ito na po ang pagkakataon kung gusto natin ng pagbabago. Kung gusto natin ng pagkakaisa. Gusto natin na maging maganda ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino.”
As for his TV show, Wowowin recently returned online after Revillame opted not to renew his contract with GMA Network. He also expressed his hopes of partnering with The Filipino Channel.
