During the media conference for her contract renewal with GMA Network, Umali said that no other network would help her grow as much as the Kapuso Network.

“Everything I have now, or where I am right now, it started here. Kumbaga sa halaman dito ho ako tinanim. At kung paano po nila ako napabunga, at kung paano po nila ako napalago. Sa tingin ko ho, hindi ho magagawa sa akin kung iba ‘yung nagdidilig sa akin. Ganon ko ho nakikita.”

She then reacted to some people calling her one of the leading ladies of the Kapuso Network.

“Hindi pa po siya nagsi-sink in sa akin, and I think it never will, pero salamat po at ganon niyo ho ako nakikita at ganon ako nakikita ng ibang tao.

“Thank you po, kasi talagang mahal ko lang ginagawa ko, and it feels so great and ang sarap po sa puso na nagpe-pay off po lahat ng hirap sa pagtatrabaho.”

She then expressed her gratitude for still being a Kapuso since she started in showbiz.

“Syempre, I’m/ very /lucky to be a Kapuso since I started. I feel very flattered and honored. And again, very thankful to be a part of the network.”

She also shared how her team and GMA Network collaborate when giving her projects.

“So far pa naman po, hindi pa naman po ako dumadating sa situation na kailangan ko sabihin ‘yung gusto ko gawin dahil lahat po ng naibibigay po sa akin consistently, Lahat po ay gusto ko gawin. So, nandoon sa point na hindi ko kailangan i-request dahil naibibigay nila ho sa akin without asking what I want.”

As for her career, Umali started in showbiz in 2009 in the GMA Network TV series Tropang Potchi and then she worked on various projects under the Kapuso Network, such as Mulawin Vs. Ravena.

She then became the ‘epic-serye princess’ after starring in the cultural dramas Sahaya and Legal Wives. Additionally, she stars in the upcoming third season of the international HBO Asia series, Halfworlds.
