Dina Bonnevie, Jaclyn Jose reveal why they choose to continue working amid the pandemic
On August 21, 2021, during the media conference for the season break of GMA Network’s teleserye, The World Between Us–multi-awarded actresses Dina Bonnevie and Jaclyn Jose revealed why they keep working amid the pandemic.
Bonnevie said she wants to give hope to people amid the pandemic.
“Sa gitna ng pademya, everybody’s suffering, everybody’s afraid and anxious pero you give people hope, you give people faith na, ‘wait its not the end. May bukas pa, may mangyayari. May magandang kahihinatnan ito.’”
She also shared how she overcame the fear of the pandemic and switched it to a more productive task.
“Sa ‘kin kasi, if you talk about the word fear, fear is taking away from you. You’re missing out on a lot of opportunities to grow, opportunities to meet people, to improve yourself because of so much fear and anxiety.
“In a world full of fear and anxiety, you can actually switch that. And instead of allowing the fear to fester in your life, you take the fear and bring it behind you and do something else.”
As for Jose, she found it hard saying no to the project.
“How can you say no to a project like this with Direk Dom, with Alden. How can you to these actors and this kind of project na ino-offer.”
She also affirmed her love for acting and noted that her craft is her only source of income amid the pandemic.
“Plus the fact na you have to be /real. It’s hard times. Pandemic, two years na. I don’t have any other source of income other than this. And this is what I do best in my life to act. This (acting) is what I love to do. No one can take that away from me.
“Anjan ‘yung COVID oo, pero hindi rin ako mabubuhay na hindi umaarte at hindi nakakasama ‘yung extended family ko. ‘Yung mga katrabaho sa pelikula.”
As for their program, The World Between Us, the Kapuso series will have its season break on August 27 and return on November 15, 2021.
According to the showrunners, they halted the production of the series due to the recent lockdowns implemented during the enhanced community quarantine.
Nonetheless, the series starring Alden Richards, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Tom Rodriguez is taking its pause on a high note as it remains the number one teleserye in the country.
Replacing the top-rating teleserye on its primetime spot will be Legal Wives, followed by Endless Love and the Korean Drama, Penthouse.
