How did Mel Tiangco relate herself with Kim Atienza’s first day on ’24 Oras’?

Mel Tiangco’s past experiences are similar to the current experiences of the new Kapuso star Kim Atienza—both are former Kapamilya and part of ABS-CBN’s primetime news program TV Patrol.

On Monday, October 11, Atienza started as the host of 24 Oras’s newest segment, Ano Na?

“Welcome sa 24 Oras, ha. Kumusta?

Tiangco proudly welcomed Atienza and asked him about how he is with his new home Network.

Atienza responded he is grateful for the warm welcome of the Kapuso network. He said he truly felt the warmth and love of those who welcomed him wholeheartedly into the network.

Tianco served as an anchor on TV Patrol from 1987 to 1995. She transferred to GMA Network in 1996 because she was suspended without pay as an anchor on TV Patrol after her endorsement with Tide laundry detergent.

ABS-CBN sued Tianco, Jay Sonza, and the GMA Network.

Vicky Morales asked Atienza if he has a message for all the Kapuso.

I shall do my best to be the best Kuya Kim that I can be by God’s grace. Maraming maraming salamat.”
