Janno Gibbs admits it’s hard to do stunts at his age but believes he is capable of one last superhero movie

At 52 years old, actor Janno Gibbs on Wednesday, November 10, admitted that it was becoming harder to do stunts though he feels he can still do one more similar movie.

“Hindi mas mahirap yung stunts pero Mas mahirap na ngayon dahil mas matanda na ako, bata pa ako sa Pedro Penduko eh,” he said during the media conference for his upcoming action-comedy film Mang Jose.

However, the actor believes he still has “one more left in the tank.”

“Honestly, I think, physically, ha? I think I have one more action superhero movie in me. Kaya ko pa siguro nang isa pa.”

Despite being challenged to do the action scenes himself, Gibbs assured his fans that he did almost all scenes with a minimal stunt double.

“But I can assure you na mga 90% ng action dito eh ako talaga. Yung double, mga 10% lang.”

The costume he wears also added to the challenge, according to Gibbs.

“Ako ang pinakamahirap for me was my costume as Mang Jose. Kasi sa fight scenes, mabigat s’ya, mainit, plus yung goggles ko hindi ako mas’yadong makakaita. So doble ang hirap pagdating sa fight scenes,” he revealed.

He then recalled how he was covered in sweat at every fight scene, adding that his goggles also made it harder to see.

“After every fight scene na ulit-ulit na tine-take eh para akong naligo talaga sa pawis. Yung goggles ko malabo ang tingin ko kasi shaded s’ya so mahirap makipag-fight scene.”

Gibbs also revealed that there was a minor accident during one of the scenes where one of their stuntmen made a wrong fall. Luckily, it was all just bruises and nothing serious.

“Meron kaming minor accident, isang stuntman na dapat mahuhulog sa building, babagsak s’ya sa mattress. Parang sumobra s’ya, nahulog s’ya sa ground. Okay naman s’ya, medyo nabugbog lang.”

Mang Jose is an upcoming action-comedy film of Vivamax and will be available for streaming on December 24 but has a pay-per-view option on November 17.
