On January 11, Eat Bulaga! renewed its contract with the GMA network. TAPE Inc. president and CEO Antonio Tuviera led the official inking.

In an interview, de Leon shared his joy in providing quality entertainment to the Dabarkads, a name given to the avid viewers and loyal followers of the noontime show.

“Were running on our 43rd year, 4 plus 3 equals 7 at sinabi ni Tito kanina na nasa 27 years na kami sa GMA.

In July 1979, Eat Bulaga! first aired on the RPN-9. After 10 years, the show aired on the ABS-CBN network.

The longest-running noontime show aired its first episode on the GMA Network in January 1995.
