TV5 needing content opens the door for content providers

President and CEO of TV5 Network and Cignal TV, Robert P. Galang, revealed on Friday, November 12, that the Kapatid Network needed more content, which led to opening doors for Cignal TV, ABS-CBN, Viva, and CS Studios.

In an interview, Galang said that the return of TV5 to being an entertainment provider resulted in more opportunities for their partners.

“In 2020, yung pag-pivot ng TV5 to entertainment, we needed more content. So si Sari-Sari and our partner Viva, we decided to produce content not just for pay-TV but also for free to air.

“Which later on, after airing on TV5, we can also air on our pay-TV channel. So na-strengthen ang partnership ng Cignal, TV5, and Viva. Kasi we saw that it was a very productive partnership to produce content for our weekend primetime.

“So makikita niyo na programa na na-launch ng Sari-Sari sa TV5…nakikita namin na maganda yung venture namin into free to air, so tinuloy-tuloy namin ngayon. And now, we have produced a lot more titles.”

However, for original shows, it will be done by Cignal while the broadcast is tasked to TV5.

Nevertheless, It is a mutual relationship between the Kapatid Network and its partners.

“It’s a perfect partnership wherein we could leverage on the relationship of Cignal and other content providers and content producers while TV5 can focus on transmission, on broadcast, on sports, plus news,” Galang said.

Among the shows produced by Cignal TV include the drama series Niña Niño, the singing reality game show Sing Galing, and many more.
