KAIA wants to be good role models, cites the importance of criticisms

ShowBT Philippines’ Pinoy Pop Girl Group KAIA said they want to be good role models to their listeners at the media conference for their latest single, ‘Blah, Blah,’ on April 8.

KAIA Sophia acknowledged the importance of criticisms, noting that they listen to the public.

“It’s also important to be open to criticisms–may it be constructive or destructive. It’s important that we always listen to the public kasi siyempre sila ang makaka-appreciate ng craft namin. So it’s really an honor, but at the same time, we have to be humble din. And, we are naman.”

KAIA Angela stated that they want to become good role models to their listeners.

“Gusto rin po namin na maging role models kami lalo na sa younger generation na we want KAIA na someone na bukod sa they can relate to, or friend nila pag feeling down. Pag naririnig nila po ‘yung music namin, somehow to lift their spirits up. Gusto rin po namin na magpakita ng mabuting ehemplo po sa mga taong sumusubaybay sa career namin.

“We will try our best. We are always trying our best to be the KAIA that people want and the KAIA that we want.”

Aside from being good role models, KAIA also wanted to help Pinoy Pop through collaborations with other PPop artists.

“It’s more like collaboration ba ng lahat ng groups, na patuloy na gumagawa ng good music para mas maingat ang music. And also makapagbigay din talaga ng message to give message to the people, to connect with people na ‘yung mga thoughts nila na hindi nila masabi through words, makita or maririnig nila ‘yun through music.”

KAIA Charlotte then echoed the motto of PPop artists.

“And of course, ‘yung example doon to that is ‘yung advocacy and movement ng mga PPop groups natin, ‘yung ‘PPop rise.’ Doon po nakikita ‘yung kaibahan ng PPop sa other Pop genre or Pop music.”

ShowBT Philippines first launched their first-ever in-house P-pop girl group named KAIA in 2021.

KAIA members Angela, Charlotte, Charice, Alexa, and Sophia, showcase their songwriting skills and performance with their debut single, “Blah, Blah,” on April 8.
