Sophie Reyes shares how it feels to be part of a showbiz family

Ever since Sophie Reyes was a child, she knew that the time would come when she would also enter showbiz.

Growing up from her great-grandmother Paraluman, grandmother Baby O’Brien, to her mother Rina Reyes, she witnessed how the industry works.

She is used to showbiz life, so when she was young, it got imprinted in her mind that she had to follow the footsteps of her mother and grandmothers.

She recalled, “Aware po ako kasi lagi akong sumasama sa mga shows nila. Ako ‘yung laging bitbit nila kapag may shooting sila.

“And nung bata ako, palagi ko na silang pinapanood, kung paano sila umarte, kung paano sila mag make-up.”

She shared during the exclusive interview that her family is very supportive of the career she is pursuing. She gets tips and advice from them.

They explain to her that showbiz now is different from the previous generations.

In today’s generation, more artists are competing in the spotlight, so she would need to strive more.

Sophie stated, “Katulad po nung kay Lola Paraluman, sabi niya ‘yung time raw talaga nila, hindi ka raw pwedeng makitang bagong gising. Hindi ka lalabas ng bahay na gulo-gulo (hitsura).

“While kay babes (Baby O’Brien) naman, she carries herself well talaga. She’s very sociable, lahat kinakausap niya. Ganyan.

“And, when it came naman to my mom, ‘yung generation nila, very sexy sila like serious actress ganyan.”

Aside from her family, the young actress admitted she wants to follow the path of award-winning actress, Angel Locsin.

“Other than ‘yung diversity’ niya when it comes to acting, I also like her and how strong and outspoken she is as a woman,” said Reyes.

She affirms she wants to use her music to inspire other people. Mythomaniac is the latest song she has written. It is available for streaming on all digital streaming platforms.
