Love Palitaw? These Palitaw Balls Are Stuffed With Cheese And Ube Halaya!

There are two types of kakanin that are available in an ube-cheese flavor combination: the ube cheese puto and the ube cheese bibingka. The latest kakanin, one that is also a merienda staple in most Filipino households, just got an ube cheese makeover: Say hello to Americia’s Ube Cheese Palitaw Balls.

Americia’s Ube Cheese Palitaw Balls (P120/tub of 12 pieces) use a purple palitaw as its base to form the mini balls. In the core of these palitaw balls are a chunk of cheese and ube halaya, which gives it that sweet and earthy flavor bomb. It is rolled in desiccated coconut and then topped with grated cheese.

Because there’s no such thing as “too much cheese” for any cheese fan, America’s also offers Cheesy Palitaw Balls (P100/tub of 12 pieces). This is a simpler version that doesn’t include the ube halaya filling, nor does it use a purple-colored palitaw to form the balls. It’s all about the cheese, for these palitaw balls.
